A Festival-Inspired Wedding at Halfmoon Farm

There’s nothing quite like a summer wedding in the English countryside, and Abbi and Isaac’s big day at Halfmoon Farm was no exception. Nestled in the heart of Rutland Water in Oakham, England, this relaxed country venue gave the couple the ideal backdrop to bring their festival-inspired vision to life. Drawing on their shared love of Glastonbury, Abbi and Isaac created a day bursting with music, colour, and joy that I was lucky enough to capture on film.

A Unique Venue with Stunning Views

Halfmoon Farm has only recently opened as a wedding venue after the owners transformed their family farm into a beautiful space for couples seeking a relaxed yet spectacular setting. With one-and-a-half acres of open countryside and stunning views of Rutland Water, the venue offers plenty of room for festival-style celebrations. The layout at Halfmoon Farm made it perfect for Abbi and Isaac’s vision, with colourful flags waving in the breeze, a spacious marquee for dining, and a lively dance floor ready for the night’s festivities.

Festival Vibes, Garden Games, and Colourful Decor

Abbi and Isaac’s attention to detail was clear from the moment you stepped onto the farm grounds. Drawing inspiration from the iconic atmosphere of Glastonbury, they decorated the space with vibrant flags and festival-inspired touches. The bright colours popped beautifully against the farm’s green landscape, creating a lively, welcoming atmosphere. The tent was decorated with rustic charm and pops of bold colours, making it the perfect setting for their summer wedding feast.

Their festival theme extended beyond decor to include fun, laid-back activities for guests, with classic garden games like giant Jenga, ring toss, and even beer pong! These playful touches brought everyone together, adding to the relaxed, joyful vibe that made the day feel just like a celebration among friends.

A Ceremony to Remember

The ceremony itself was heartwarming and intimate, set outdoors with the sweeping countryside as the backdrop. With friends and family gathered around, Abbi and Isaac exchanged their vows surrounded by nature and the stunning views of Rutland Water. The soft breeze added an extra touch of magic, and it was a privilege to capture those moments as they unfolded.

Dancing Under the Stars

Abbi and Isaac made a memorable statement with their first dance choice—Adore U by Fred Again. Known for its upbeat energy and unique sound, this unconventional choice was a refreshing departure from traditional first-dance songs, perfectly capturing the couple’s individuality and love for music. It set the tone for the rest of the night, as they opened up the dance floor to high-energy drum and bass and EDM tracks that had everyone dancing under the stars.

Why Halfmoon Farm is Perfect for Festival Weddings

Abbi and Isaac’s wedding was a testament to Halfmoon Farm’s versatility as a wedding venue. With ample space for marquees, dance floors, outdoor dining, and plenty of room for games, it allowed them the freedom to make the day truly their own. Halfmoon Farm’s combination of rustic charm and open space made it a perfect choice for couples who want to bring a bit of festival spirit to their big day.

From capturing the vibrant decor to filming the heartwarming ceremony and unforgettable dancing, Abbi and Isaac’s wedding at Halfmoon Farm was an absolute joy to film. This beautiful venue and the couple’s creativity turned their day into a one-of-a-kind celebration that I was honored to be a part of.

If you’re dreaming of a festival-style wedding, Halfmoon Farm provides the ideal canvas for bringing that vision to life, with breathtaking views, open space, and a relaxed country vibe that makes every moment unforgettable.
